 | PALLTIMES |
Anonymous writes "THE PALLADIUM TIMES TODAY: "According to Murray Gould, of The Oswego Arts Collaborative, the group was in the final stages of acquiring the building from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse.
“We were well aware of the building’s issues,” Gould said. “There was water coming into the building and that had to be addressed. Construction engineers were in the building about two weeks ago, and we had roofers looking at the roof. “The reason that our group had been working to (acquire the building) was that we were all fearful that if something wasn’t done with the building it would become a vacant lot and the next thing you know it’s a (department store or a gas station).”
REALLY NOW, DOESN'T THIS SCENARIO TAKE THE HEAT OFF THE CITY OF OSWEGO ? THANKS FOR THE TRY MURRAY BUT YOU'RE A DAY LATE. MURRAY HIMSELF KNEW TO GET OUT OF DODGE AND HAS MOVED HIS RESIDENCE TO THE SYRACUSE AREA. THE RAIN HAS BEEN POURING THROUGH THIS STRUCTURE FOR YEARS NOW. THESE LAST FEW DAYS OF HARD RAIN FINALLY BROUGHT IT DOWN. DOESNT TAKE A ROCKET SCIENTIST DO KNOW WHAT THESE RECENT RAINS WILL DO TO A SMALL HOUSSE LEAK . AND THE BUILDING WAS JUST INSPECTED BY A DAMN ENGINEER!!!??? BUT WAS IT INSPECTED BY OUR CITY ENGINEER? WAS HE PART OF THE "WE ALL KNEW"? BUT THEN AGAIN, WE ARE NOT QUITE SURE HE'S AN ENGINEER TO BEGIN WITH. THIS ORG. PURCHASING A DECREPIT STRUCTURE WITH NO PLANS JUST TO MAKE SURE IT'S NOT REPLACED BY A GAS STATION? WE SHOULD ELECT THIS MAN FOR MAYOR! WORD ON THE STREET, HES HAD SUCK "LUCK" WITH OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICE. NO WONDER HE LEFT DODGE. THE PALLTIMES' USUAL TWIST AND SHEILDING THE MAYOR ON THE STORY. MY GUESS? MURRAY'S MADE THE CITY FULL AWARE THE DANGEROUS CONDITION THIS BUILDIING FACED. THIS WAS THE MAN'S LIVELIHOOD OVER THE LAST FEW DECADES. ONCE AGAIN, GREAT JOB TO OUR NEW EDITOR AND KISS ASS.
