 | Why not Oswego? |
Anonymous writes "Liverpool to close School. Why not Oswego? Fulton to cut staff. Why not Oswego? Lion site reports City has more employess of all types than any other city our size in NYS. Others cities have down sized. Why not Oswego? Overtime is out of control boosting taxes for years, others have cut back, Why not Oswego?
The Pall Times has access to all the facts and has reported none of it. The Pall allows this to go on by thier refusal to hold leaders accountable."

Re: Why not Oswego? (Score: 1) by linnylov on Friday, February 05 @ 03:52:07 PST (User Info | Send a Message) | i dont see the Palltimes being around for too much longer. reporting the city & school districts's woes alone would raise their sales by 75%. but instead they tip toe around to keep peace with any and all bureaucracies- government, school unions and all local agencies. For crying out loud, isn't this the news that sells papers, news about the facts that hit home? The publication seems biased in a way to sugarcoat and avoid the facts to look like Oswego is a dandy place to live, far from it. A new publisher had a chance to rally it by using the paper as a tool to expose facts thru investigating and reporting the ugly truths than ruin this town and by holding leaders accountable, what is ther to be afraid of? i dont get it, any other publication cant wait to get their hands on news that sells. isn't that the business in itself? Well heres some real news, people arent buying a paper dishing out nothing but folley. pretty easy to figure out by watching them drop employees and raise the price by 33%. a two page paper giving us the facts would sell like hot cakes.
look at todays headlines: Wind Farm Project May Avoid Oswego County Altogether should read: Oswego County Loses Wind Farm Project To Jefferson County read between the lines and weep

Because if they actually cut jobs at the school district it might effect a family member of someone on the board - that is why not Oswego.
If the city cut overtime, it may effect a family member of someone on the common council or even the mayor - that is why not Oswego.
Keep raising taxes folks and those of us that pay the taxes are going to leave Oswego and then there will be no revenue - what will Oswego do then? |
